Chandigarh: Party Bharatiya Janata (BJP) on Friday released the first list of 34 candidates, for the election of Punjab assembly February 20.

While announcing 34 candidates, National Secretary General BJP Tarun Chugh said that the party has given representation to all parts of society and the first list includes 12 candidates from the farm community, eight of the caste families scheduled, other candidates and other candidates come from Mahajan, Bania, JAT Sikh and Other communities.
He added that the first list had advocates, doctors, players, young people, women and even former IAS officers.
Both party legislators sit – Dinesh Singh from Sujanpur and Arun Narang from Abrohar – will contest from their existing assembly segment.
Two candidates for women have found a place in the first list – Kashyap Renu from Dina Nagar and Nimisha Mehta from Garhshankar.
Kashyap will fight against the Aruna Chaudhary Cabinet Minister.
Former officer IAS SR Ladhar has been given a ticket from the Gill Reserve Constituency (SC).
The party has not included the names of the Punjab President BJP Ashwani Sharma, Secretary General of the State of the Subhash Party Sharma and Jeevan Gupta in the first list.
The former Cabinet Service of the Safron Party has included the names of three former party cabinet ministers on their first list.
ManoRanjan Kalia has been given a ticket from Jalandhar Central, Surjit Kumar Jyani from Fazilka and Tikshan Sood from Hoshiarpur.
Likewise, the former Chief Secretary of Parliament Krishna Dev Bhandari has been derived from Jalandhar North.
The Turncoats cabinet minister who prominent in the Government of Congress Gurmet Singh Sodhi, who recently joined BJP, has been derived from the city of Ferozepur.
Even though he was MLA sitting from the constituency of Teacher Har Sahai.
Arvind Khanna, a former cabinet minister in the Congress government, which is considered close to Amarinder Singh, has been derived from the constituency of the Sangrur.
He has joined the Safron Party recently.
Nimisha Mehta, who was rejected by a ticket by Congress and recently crossed to BJP, has been given a ticket from the assembly segment of Garhshankar.
