Chandigarh: The Punjab Cabinet is likely to make a decision on the demand for reducing VAT on gasoline and diesel in the next meeting scheduled for November 7, talking to the media in Ludhiana on Friday, the Minister of Finance Badal said the government wanted to cut the price but the final decision would be taken in Cabinet meeting on Sunday.
He said the union government must reduce further excise tasks on gasoline and diesel.
Following Customs cuts in the middle, various countries such as Haryana and UT Chandigarh have reduced VAT on fuel.
Previously, Sad President Sukhbir Badal urged the Congress government to reduce the level of VAT on gasoline and diesel to provide assistance to consumers.
“The minister’s chairman is in a note after saying that Treasury is full.
In this case, it should have no problems in influencing direct reductions in state VAT on fuel as carried out by the center and various other state governments,” he added.
