Amritsar: Remembering all those who are known and unknown Martyred in the massacre of April 13, 1919, the Minister of Chief Justice Amarinder Singh inaugurated the Centenary Memorial Park Jallianwala Bagh at night Independence 75th India.
Family members from several martyrs also arrived at the new memorial.
On that occasion, Amarinder said, “this second memory is an award for all unknown martyrs who put their lives during the Jalianwala Bagh massacre, while the original warning has been built to remember those who are known to have been killed on the site on the site in Indonesia this tragedy.
“Amarinder said no one knew the exact number of lives lost, even though the Deputy Office of the Commissioner had the names of 488 which fell into the British bullets led by Dyer General, who opened fire on the orders of the Governor of Punjab, Michael O ‘Dwyer.
CM said with 1,250 bullets fired on that day, the number would actually run in thousands.
On that occasion, he told him that the special historian research team and the research scholar had been formed by Teacher Nanak Dev University for conducting research on Jallianwala Bagh martyrs and freedom fighters who were imprisoned in cellular prisons, Port Blair.
“After research is complete, the names more martyrs may be found,” he said, adding that enough space has been stored in the warning column to enter more names in the future.
CM pays a flower wage to unsung heroes and respects 29 members of the martyr who died in the massacre.
Move came after the legislation of 1951, Parliament had enacted the National Memorial Law Jallianwala Bagh for the management of national warnings.
Under the 1951 Law, this warning supervisor includes the prime minister as chairman, the President of the Indian National Congress, Minister of Culture, opposition leader in Lok Sabha, Governor of Punjab and Punjab’s head as a permanent member.
Three Trustees were also nominated by the central government for five years.
However, the Jallianwala Bagh National Warning Bill (Amendment), 2019 moved the president of the Indian National Congress as Trustee.
This is probably the reason why the government managed by the congress comes with another warning.
Not all are happy with this development.
“The sanctity of Jallianwala Bagh is on his land where people give their lives and it cannot be recreated elsewhere,” said Shwait Malik, one of the guardians about the Jallianwala Bagh National Warning Trust.
The former member of Parliament and Tarlochan Singh said, “Who will go to the commemoration when Jallianwala Bagh is there?” Built at a cost of R.
