PATIALA: Storms throughout the last week have caused enormous damages to electricity transmission and distribution infrastructure in Punjab.
Because of the storms that the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has suffered financial losses of Rs 25 crore.
The PSPCL officials demonstrated that storms caused the harm to approximately 900 motors, 20 electrical towers, over 13,000 sticks, approximately 2,500 transformers and over 100 Km of conductor, other than other related accessories and equipment.
The officials stated that around the clock observation, orderly patrolling of claws and draining of traces has been done and for this reason, the PSPCL managed to restore power distribution in the majority of the affected region in 72 hours.
The PSPCL stated that customers, particularly in rural regions, also arrived to assist in all probable ways.
PSPCL chairman-cum-managing manager A Venu Prasad stated that over 15,000 employees of this company have addressed over 1.8 lac complaints impacting over 50 lakh customers throughout the nation.
