Bathinda: New cases of burning rice residues continue to fall in Punjab on Wednesday because the country recorded 523 new incidents, taking the total number of September 15 this year to 69,445.
The day before, the state has recorded 1,757 new cases.
That number was 1,761 on November 15 and 2,541 on November 14.
On Wednesday, Fazilka and Muktsar Regency recorded 72 burning stumps.
They were followed by 53 new cases in Sangrur.
Sangrur has so far recorded 7,880 cases.
This was attended by 6,422 in Moga, 6,099 in Ferozepur, 5,713 in Ludhiana and 5,225 in Patiala.
Pathankot only recorded five cases.
The air quality index (AQI) in most cities Punjab remains poor, but moderate in Ropar and Khanna.
Aqi in Amritsar is 248, Bathinda 257, Jalandhar 240, Khanna 170, Ludhiana 239, Bath Gobindarh 243, Patiala 262 and in Ropar 175.
