Punjab, Haryana & HP Home to 24 DISS Retreat Education

Chandigarh: Grant University (UGC) commission has identified 24 districts retreating education in Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
These districts, 13 in Punjab, seven in Haryana and four in Himachal, have been identified by various educational parameters, including gross registration ratios, college population ratios and average registration per lecture by UGC.
Responding to questions by Rama Devi and Harish Dwivedi, the two BJP Parliament members at Lok Sabha, the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Education, said there were 374 districts in the country.
In its response, the Ministry claimed to have taken several initiatives to improve the quality of education with a special focus on EBD, including the implementation of an integrated scheme for school education named Samagra Shiksha.

College model has been subject to sanctions in 194 districts, where UGC has provided sanctions 64 while 130 subject to sanctions under the scheme of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan sponsored at the center.
Slow to learn Punjab has a maximum of 13 districts – Amritsar, Bathinda, Faridkot, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ferozepur, Gurdapur, Kapurthala, Muksa, Moga, Muktsar, Nawanshahr, Patiala, Sangrur – In categories.
This was followed by Haryana, where seven districts – fatehabad, Gurgaon, Jind, Kaithal, Karnal, Panipat and SANSA – have been declared backward in education.
The count of these districts in Himachal stands in four – Chamba, Kinnaur, Lahaul-spiti and Sirmaur.
