Chandigarh: Punjab reported 7,642 Covid-19 cases, a 25.62% increase in the last 24 hours, while 21 people surrendered to the virus on Friday.
Two old deaths were also added to the state counting.
Daily case positivity jumped up to 21.19%.
In Ludhiana, 1,808 people were tested positive while 1,215 cases were revealed in Mohali, 695 in Jalanda, 634 in Bathinda, 462 in Hoshiarpur, 445 in Gurdaspur, 272 in Kapurthala, 248 in Ropar, 152 in Fatehgarh Sahib, 119 in Nawanshahr, 81 in Tarn Taran, 77 in Muksa, 68 in Moga, 60 in Sangrur, 57 in Fazilka, 55 each in Faridkot and Fernazepur and 46 in Barnala.
As many as 1,89,452 beneficiaries in various categories were given a vaccine dose, which 68.268 received their first dose and 1,15,281 of their second dose.
As many as 7,672 in the age group 15-17 received their first dose while 5.903 was given a preventive dose.
