Chandigarh: The Punjab government has decided to provide RS 2 Lakh as compensation to 83 people arrested by Delhi police after a tractor rally on the Central Agriculture Law turned into violence on the Republican Day this year.
Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi on Saturday tweeted: “Repeating my government’s stand to support the ongoing farmer protest against three black farm laws, we have decided to compensate RS 2 Lakh to 83 people arrested by Delhi police for rallifying tractors In the national capital on January 26, 2021.
“Meanwhile, the Legislative Punjab Committee who investigated suspected atrocities by Delhi police on farmers, youth and others after the January 26 incident had concluded that there was a conspiracy to defile the farmers who protested.
The panel has shown that the rally tractor route to the red fortress and incident afterwards do a “plot” to label the farmer as a hooligan.
The farmers have taken the parade tractor in January26 in the national capital to highlight their two main demands for the revocation of three laws and legal guarantees of the minimum support price.
Previously, the Punjab government was present in May decided to give RS 5 Lakh as compensation from each CM assistance fund to the family of 189 farmers who had died at the location of the protest during the ongoing three Agri laws.
According to BKU (ETTA-ugrahan), more than 400 farmers from all countries have died during protests.
MLA KULDEEP Singh Vaid is the Chair of the Committee of the Assembly, while Mlaas Kulbir Singh Zira, Fatehjung Singh Bajwa, Sarabjitkaur Manuke and Harinderal Singh Chandumajra is its members.

Farmer Delegation to Meet Punjab CM: 32 Punjab Farmers Union will send their representatives to CM on November 17 with fertilizer demands, procurement of rice to harvest settlement, the arrest of the Acerial leaders involved in the incidence of Ferozepur, and the work and compensation of the families of farmers who died during ongoing agitation.
Farmers have planned to meet CM on November 11 and 13 but failed to get promises for those days.
Their conglomerates, Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), took Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij for saying that Unionists had “failed to solve farmers even after agitation a year”.
Morcha said: “This statement is more suitable for BJP, and PM.” Claiming that Payjab Farmers was convicted of Delhi air pollution, they Morcha said instead of blaming, they needed incentives and support to make the transition from rice and wheat.
