Chandigarh: Punjab Cabinet on Monday decided to provide free strength for all rustic water supply schemes (RWS) from October 1, 2021.

These two concessions will benefit nearly 25 lakh families living in urban areas.
The cabinet also gave approval to send recommendations for the appointment of Jagbans Singh as the new chairman of the Punjab Public Service Commission.
The arrears of water and sewerage which was released from the cabinet also decided to release all arrears for water supply and sewerage fees for domestic connections.
This decision tends to swallow the cost of the state expouber almost Rs 700 Crore.
