Bengaluru: At a meeting in Delhi on Tuesday, Rahul Gandhi asked the president of the Shivakumar DK Congress and Legislative Party leader Siddaramaiiah to work together, official said.
The two senior members have been in the Loggerheads on many problems, including who will be the party’s face for the assembly selection of 2023.
The Command of the High Congress has called them to iron their differences.
Rahul reportedly instructed Shivakumar and Siddaramaia to fight polls of the Assembly under collective leadership, warned them by projected themselves as a ministerial level candidate.
“Rahul Gandhi gave us some suggestions, which we will follow sincerely.
Of course, there are small differences.
Congress has strong internal democracy.
Having differences of opinion are part of the setting of democracy, but we will remain united,” Siddaramaiiah said at the conference pers.
Shivakumar said that Congress would go to the next poll under united leadership.
“Congress is a national party with a well-defined ideology.
This is collective leadership and there is no scope for individual leadership.
We have a dozen leaders, and the party will go to the election below them,” he said.
