Reaf of NRC re-verification rises on both alerts

Guwahati: Aabhijeet Sharma, whose petition in 2009 prompted the Supreme Court to order NRC updates in 1951, reaffirmed which was required to be held in exactly two years after the latest version of the national list of residents published on August 31 which contained the name 3.11 crore people, What is considered Indian citizens who live in Assam, but leave almost 19 names of Lakh.

While the state government is looking for re-verification of 20% of data in NRC in the district bordering Bangladesh and re-verification of 10% in other districts, Sharma wants re-verification of data in 20 of 33 districts.
“There was an anomaly, which was received by the NRC Coordinator of the State Hitesh Dev Sarma in the Supreme Court.
He is also looking for a 100% verification of the NRC list.
We want 100% re-verification from the NRC list in Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Chiran, Bongaigaon, Southern Salmara, Destination , Nalbari, Barpeta, Kumbrup Metro, Kamrup, Udalguri, Darrang, Sonitpur, Lakhar, Hojai, Cachar, Karimanj and Hailakadi District, “Sharma said.
“There are at least 80 names of lakh from foreigners who have succeeded in entering their names on the list through cheating means,” he added.
He said the NGO, Assam’s public work, has registered 10 cases in Cid, the Directorate of Enforcement and Local Police Station against former NRC Coordinator of Prateek Hajela.
Complete draft was released on July 30, 2018, and more than 40 lakh people were released from him.
Additional 1,02,462 people left in June that year, took the total amount excluded to 41.10.169 although in the final list, the number of people excluded dropped to 19 lakh.
