Chandigarh: broken thieves become flat in sector 38 and steal gold jewelry worth Rs 20 lakh and rs 10,000 on Friday.
Simarjeet Kaur worked as an additional director in food, civil and consumer supplies, Punjab Bhawan, sector 39.
He lived with his son in official accommodation.
He said the theft was revealed when his son arrived at home for lunch at 2pm.
He found the main door lock broken on the first floor and the room was searched.
Kaur said he found a golden finger ring, some pairs of gold earrings, gold chains and bracelets worth around Rs 20 Lakh and Rs 10,000 were missing from almyirah.
The forensic team collects fingerprints and other evidence.
The police registered the case and examined CCTV recordings to get instructions.
