Bengaluru: While farmers throughout Karnataka cry over poor violations and delayed from compensation for plant losses because the rain is not season, the government has allocated RS 443 Crore under the state disaster response fund (SDRF).
The state has paid compensation for around 6.6 lakh farmers who qualified.
“We have distributed around RS 132 Crore with installments among the affected farmers before November.

He said the compensation was immediately credited to the farmer’s account through direct benefit (DBT) transfers after they uploaded the plant loss details on the Parishara portal.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Agriculture on Wednesday will launch the payment of plant insurance claims to farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
The insurance company will begin to pay farmers in Chitradurga, Kopolar, Tumakuaru and Koppal in the first phase, where losses relating to heavy rain have been reported.
