Chandigarh: With the arrest of a defendant, Haryana Polda has solved a case where the gang has robbed a container truck carrying a cigarette consignment worth 6.5 crore in Nuh Regency.
The police have also recovered a truck carrying cigarettes from a leading brand looted by robber gangs at the weapon point on August 8.
Police spokesman Haryana said that a container who brought a cigarette cartoon consignment, worth Rs 6.5 Crore, has been sent from Saharanpur to Ahmedabad.
When a cigarette vehicle passed through the Tauru area, around two dozen people, who came in two trucks and two cars, stopped the container, dragged the driver and looted the consignment at the weapon point.
Following complaints, a case under the relevant IPC provisions registered and specially formed teams.
Acting on intelligence and other inputs, the police team accused accusing Kundan Vishwakarma, a Dewas district resident in Madhya Pradesh, and recovered the entire consignment of it.
The defendant was taken on police shipment for further interrogation.
