Guwahati: Making a breakthrough to the Muslim-majority belt from the lower and western Assam, burdened with the tag “illegal immigrants”, will always be a difficult proposition for right-wing organizations such as RSS.
But Covid-19 vaccination gave Sangh activists rare opportunities to reach people and also made their presence feel, violating a religious barrier.
Prove the wrong myth of vaccination, a member of the Seemanta Chetana Mancha (SCM), an active RSS affiliated forum along the international border, has opened the door of his district office in the South Salma-Mankachar district, which has around 95% of Muslim populations, for immunization.
“Today, we will vaccinate around 300 people on our session site.
We serve humanity, not people from certain religious beliefs.
About 95% of Muslims will benefit from this session site,” said Dilip Roy, Vice President of the SCM district unit.
After vaccimizing around 55,000 3.5 lakh it was estimated 18+ people in the district on Saturday, South Salma-Mankachar slightly above the carriicch of West Anglong, which was at the bottom of the calculation.
“Our goal is to vaccinate the maximum number of decent citizens at this hour.
Our affiliates do not inhibit our encouragement to help the Ministry of Health to investigate more and more people,” Roy added.
The SCM district office in an Assam type house located in the main market of Mankachar, almost 500 meters from the Bangladesh border.
It was being destroyed by a large number of people since morning.
There is no communal hatred in a busy commercial center in this district, as evidenced in activism by Hinduism and Muslims, who maintain vaccination centers.
“The SCM role is indeed commendable when they open their office doors so that we can vaccinate the maximum person,” said Immunization Officer of Dr.
Sirajul Islam Regency.
Islam added that South Salmara-Mankachar had become one of the two Assam Regency which recorded the lowest vaccination until recently.
Some valuable Jab consignments are even returned to other districts when there are several takers because of vaccine doubts here.
“But the scenario has changed in just two months with the support of an organization that has handled hands with the Ministry of Health to change the mindset of people,” he said.
The leaders of the selected minority group have announced free five kg of rice soup to present hundreds of non-malicious people to vaccination centers in the district.
To instill awareness, as expected from an Indian who lives on the border, Roy said their forum tirelessly worked in eight districts, close to Bhutan and Bangladesh in Assam.
The presence of foreign spies with the guise of the common people cannot be denied in these districts, where intelligence agencies always store tabs.
But Covid has forced organizations such as SCM to only focus on vaccination drive this pandemic.
Fear of the death of the time in two years after vaccination has gripped people in the West Assam section, which is an obstacle to carrying out vaccinations.
“It’s very difficult to overcome myth to May,” Islam said.
He added that they reply to this myth by saying that Covid can take their lives even before, if they roam without getting Jab.
