Chandigarh: No trolley tractors will be permitted in rallies, protests or demonstrations in the city, according to decisions taken during the legal parable and the review held on Monday follows farmers’ protests against the three controversial agria marketing laws in the central sector in this sector 48 on Saturday where the car from two BJP leaders was damaged.

UT Administrator V P Singh Badnore, who led the meeting, said that every citizen has the right to legitimate and peaceful protests in democracy, but no legal violators will be tolerated.
“Peaceful protests will only be permitted in places intended, land rally, sector 25.
Strict actions will be taken against those who enjoy violence according to the law,” he said.
Badnore said Chandigarh became the capital of Punjab and Haryana, was a responsibility with Punjab Polys and Haryana Police to load the protest in their jurisdiction.
The meeting with the police chief from Tricity will be investigated immediately to keep Chandigarh and Tricity free of these incidents and to ensure better coordinated actions.
The administrator directs the DGP Sanjay Baniwal to ensure better coordination with all stakeholders.
The meeting was also attended by UT Adviser Dharam Pal, Arun Kumar Gupta’s home secretary, DC Mandip Brar, SSP Kuldeep Singh Chahal and other senior officials.
