Shivamogga / Medikya: In a few minutes from the Minister of Chief BS Yediyurappa announced his resignation on Monday, a commercial company in Shikaripura from the Shivamogga district was closed and observed bandh in protests.
Upset with BJP High Command, residents raised slogans against party leaders, especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Even though Yediyurappa has submitted his resignation on the previous occasion, this is the first time the residents observed bandh in protest.
Shikaripura has chosen Yediyurappa seven times and is ‘Karmabhoomi’.
The villagers at the birthplace of Yediyurappa from Bootakere in Kr Pet Taluk, Mandya District was also sad.
The villagers closed all temples in protests and vent their anger towards Functioioo BJP.
They saw it as injustice brought to Yediyurappa by his party colleagues.
“The party will pay an error,” said the villagers.
“He was not dismantled as asked to step down by BJP leaders and we condemned him,” said Madhu, Yediyurappa’s nephew.
The trip from Subbanna 60sdh, the brother of the former legislative chairman DH Shankaramurthy in Shivamogga said he brought Yediyurappa to Shikaripura from Bengaluru in the 60s where he worked at RSS.
“Yediyurappa struggled to build a party from Jana Sangh Days,” he recalled.
“The RSS leaders usually stay away from politics, but Yediyurappa made a sign as a politician,” he said.
