Amritsar: A Teenage Sikh girl Rajmeet Kaur embraced Islam to become Zannat Aunt and marry her boyfriend Zunaaid Muslims have caused tensions between Sikh and Muslims in Sahib, Pakistan.
Source of Rajmeet, 18, married Zunaid, 18, on December 7 at a mosque in Jararwala City in the Faislabad district in Pakistan, about 25 km from Sahib nail.
He also filed a petition in a local court, claiming the threat to life and seeking security.
His father was Ranjit Singh, a judge by the profession, had been seeking help from the public to bring back the girl to the family.
When problems increased, local administration intervened and brought Rajmeet and Zunaid to the police station, where their parents were also called to compromise.
However, the effort failed and the police decided to send the girl to Darul Uloom in Lahore, but he insisted that he was handed over to them.
“Rajmeet immediately refused to go to his parents and agreed to go to Darul Uloom or sent with ZunaAID, which has caused tensions between the two communities,” said a local leader Sikh.
He also accused several Sikh politicians triggering fires for their political benefits.
