BENGALURU: Approximately 17 months Following Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited floated a tender for Its 19km Central Silk Board-KR Puram Metro corridor on Outer Ring Road, the Bureau on Monday issued work orders to Companies.

Back in December 2019, BMRCL had invited bids for ORR Metro to its next time since the cash-strapped IL&FS had appeared that the lowest bidder for several packages from the very first tender Founded in February 2018. For the next tender, monetary bids were started from October 2020 along with Mumbai-based Afcons Infrastructure Limited and also Bengaluru-based Shankaranarayana Constructions Pvt Ltd appeared as the lowest prices in 2 bundles. But, BMRCL did not issue the job order because they obtained the Centre’s acceptance just in April 2021. Afcons Infra has obtained the job order for construction of six raised channels: Central Silk Board, HSR Layout, Agara, Ibbalur, Bellandur and Kadubeesanahalli in a price of Rs 785 crore. Work also involves building of ramps and loops for a street flyover in Central Silk Board junction. Shankaranarayana Constructions has obtained the contract for building seven elevated channels: Kodibeesanahalli, Marathahalli, ISRO, Doddanekundi, DRDO sports complicated, Saraswathi Nagar and KR Puram in a price of Rs 623 crore. Function of both companies includes street widening and utility recreation. On the other hand, the tender to KR Puram into Kempegowda International Airport is very likely to be finalised solely by June because of lockdown. BMRCL managing director Rakesh Singh stated they’ve issued a Letter of Acceptance for both companies. “They’re expected to start functioning in 45 days. Tenders for KR Puram-KIA Metro is going to probably be finalised by the next week of June. It had been postponed because of Covid since companies were not able to submit documents that were physical ” Officials said that the Rs 14,788-crore ORR-KIA Metro is anticipated to be finished by 2025-2026. This corridor is suggested to transport 7.7 lakh passengers every day. For its 19km ORR Metro, BMRCL officials stated the full 60,256 sqm demanded was obtained. For its 38km KR Puram-KIA Metro, of those 3.1 lakh sqm, 2.7 lakh sqm was handed on to the technology department. “Payment of reimbursement for the rest of the region is under advance,” said an official.
