Manali: Jalan Raya Manali-Leh and Manali-Kaza have been blocked after snowfall in various locations between Keylong and Leh and Kunzum Pass on Monday.
The traffic movement on Jalan Raya Manali-Leh was restored at night while Manali-Kaza Road was closed until night.
All the main mountains passed along the highway, including Baralacha Pass and Taglangla Pass, watching fresh snow from Sunday.
The thickness of the snow has been stored on the highway in Baralacha.
The vehicle has begun to glide on the road.
Taking preventive measures, Lahaul-spitic police have stopped all vehicles in Darcha before Baralacha Pass.
From Ladakh, traffic was stopped at Sarchu and Upshi.
Kunzum Pass at Highway Manali-Kaza has also received fresh snow.
Lahaul-Spitan Manav Verma Police Inspector said, “The movement of the vehicle has been stopped after input from the border road organization (Bro) that the road in Baralacha and the nearest area has witnessed the snow.
Traffic will be continued as soon as officials bro gives a green signal.” A large number of vehicles , including tourist vehicles, has been stopped since morning.
Officials say all vehicles are permitted after road conditions become safe.
A Bro official said Baralacha and the closest area had got good snow since Sunday.
“We’ve used a machine in a different location on the Manali-Leh highway.
Snow has been cleaned.
The highway will remain operational for traffic as long as it will be possible this season.
We will continue to clean the snow from the highway until the snow is very heavy making the past Cross risk, “he said.
Rohtang Pass has also received fresh snow on Monday morning.
PIR Panjal Range, Deo Tibba, Kunzum, Peak of Friendship, CB range and the nearest area also received fresh snow since Sunday.
While the higher area gets fresh snow, the bottom receives rain.
Part of Kullu Regency received heavy rain on Sunday night and Monday morning, which triggered a lot of landslides.
