GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has led the authorities to unearth reason for death of two small girls whose bodies had been discovered hanging in a tree under mysterious circumstances in a village at Kokrajhar district on Friday last.
The ministry had met with the relatives of both little women in the village on Sunday.
After spending some time with the loved ones of the deceased women, Sarma said that the government wasn’t carrying the departure of the 2 women from an indigenous community gently.
Sarma, while communicating his sympathy to the people of their bereaved relatives, said that the state government is standing firmly with these in their time of distress.
The incident happened in a forest in which the bodies of those 2 sisters – old 16 and 14 years old were discovered hanging from a tree on Friday evening.
Family members maintained the women were raped and murdered.
SP (Kokrajhar) Prateek Thube reported the bodies of these 2 siblings were located in a little woods at Abhayakuti village on Friday evening.
The bodies had been delivered into Kokrajhar Civil Hospital for post mortem, he also added.
“A case was registered.
A preliminary analysis suggested that the 2 women suspectedly finished their own lives.
We’ll have the ability to tell after getting the post mortem reports,” the officer stated.
Speaking to the press on Sunday, the CM stated he visited with the household to take inventory of this episode.
In addition, he stated he carried out an on-ground review and held talks with all the Bodoland Territorial Area IGP and Kokrajhar SP about the situation.
“I’ve requested the IGP in-charge of BTR and Kokrajhar SP into edpedite the stunt and also resolve the situation at the first,” he explained.
Figuring out that the problem of women’s security is a high priority of the Assam government, the CM averred that atrocity in any kind against the bad will be tolerated.
“The family claims there is not any cause for the little women to commit suicide.
So there’s a mystery behind these deaths.
We aren’t accepting the incident gently.
By coming here , I wish to send a very clear message that this administration won’t accept any kind of injury or atrocity about both weak and downtrodden,” he explained.
He said authorities have picked up four-five suspects for interrogation.
“Two of these suspects have deleted all photos and messages from their cell telephones.
They had to speak to the women frequently for extended intervals,” he explained.
“Prima facie the situation hints at murder in addition to suicide under duress.
When it’s murder, then we’ll discover the culprits and punish them.
When it’s suicide, then we’ll discover the reason for women taking such a measure.
I’ve instructed the authorities to do all possible to fix the situation at the first,” he explained.
