BENGALURU: Much as Karnataka is combating the Covid second tide, there is extreme speculation about documented efforts in the ruling BJP to substitute chief Union B Yediyurappa.
A few ministers and MLAs, for the very first time, publicly admitted that efforts are being forced to unseat Yediyurappa.
Revenue ministry Ashoka, a Yediyurappa loyalist, said he is aware of these actions in New Delhi.
“We all know that a few folks are attempting to prevent oxygen source to the present authorities.
However, we are guaranteeing uninterrupted source of oxygen,” he further added.
It comes amid reports that many BJP MLAs held meetings in classes from Bengaluru, Hubballi and other areas over the last couple of days to talk about leadership change.
The MLAs who attended those meetings also maintained that the high command has allegedly led the ministry to convene a legislature party meeting following June 7, the final day of their lockdown to begin the procedure.
They also asserted that a person young and appropriate to the public cutting across caste concerns would be regarded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union minister Amit Shah in consultation with older leaders.
A couple of legislators, such as tourism ministry CP Yogeeshwara and BJP Hubballi-Dharwad (West) legislator Aravind Bellad on Tuesday, proceeded to Delhi allegedly to lobby on behalf of a CM aspirant.
Reports that the more legislators are most likely to combine them have made a flutter in BJP circles.
Yediyurappa, who caught wind of this, purchased his loyalists to rally supporting him and deliver a powerful message.
They held a meeting and also afterwards batted in his favor.
Lashing out in Yediyurappa’s detractors, senior BJP MLA SR Vishwanath announced that Yediyurappa would last in office until the next assembly elections.
The other MLA M Virupakshappa stated Modi and Shah will not risk dropping a BJP government in the south west by eliminating Yediyurappa.
Deputy CM C N Ashwath Narayana claimed no legislature party meeting was known on or after June 7.
Bommai predicted reports about CM alter and legislature party meeting in June because”not authorized”.
