Chandigarh: With Covid cases decreased in the city, the UT government has accelerated the project that has been influenced by the second covid wave.
In the direction of UT Dharam PAL adviser, the administration has asked all departments to submit a list of projects (proposed and ongoing), which must be completed at the end of the current financial year.
They were asked to speed up a delayed project because Covid.
Because UT advisers regularly hold a review of various departments, heads of departments are asked to submit details such as project-related litigation, disputes with other relevant contractors and detail that cause delays.
UT government also issued written instructions to various departments to prepare a list of projects that can be completed sequentially within 100 days after consultation with engineers.
A senior UT official said a new advisor made a field visit from various projects and asked the officers to submit details.
UT will review these projects and issue further instructions if needed.
The instructions were issued after the recent announcement by UT Administrator V P Singh Badnore, where he stated that he, together with the new UT Advisor Dharam PAL, made a 100-day program to review a delayed project.
He said he would attend a project review meeting delayed by UT advisor.
The UT government recently directs the health department to accelerate vaccination to cover the maximum population as soon as possible.
In addition, the administration decided to focus on increasing roads in the city.
Recarpeting and road maintenance work will be taken based on priority after the rainy season.
The relevant direction has been issued for the UT Engineering Department and Municipal Corporation.
Administration focuses on improving health infrastructure before possible third covid waves.
Recently, the center asked for administration of UT to strengthen medical infrastructure and accelerate the rate of vaccination.
