Manali: The days after being stranded at 17,500 feet in Glacier Khamenger in the Spiti Himachal Pradesh area due to bad weather, 11 trekkers and coolies penetrated safely to the basic camp of the two rescue teams on Tuesday night.
The body of two trekkers remained in glaciers with four Porter and Sherpa, and will be moved on Wednesday or Thursday.
The search and rescue team of 32 members from 16 Jawan from Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), six Jawan from Scouts Dogrra Army, and 10 Porters had begun their climb to the Khami valley around 3am on Tuesday.
Midway, the rescue team saw several people down from the top and found them from stranded expeditions.
The Trekker told the rescue team that four porists and Sherpa guides remained with the corpses, while others went down when the weather had been cleaned.
Magistrate Subdivisional (HR) Pratap Singh Mahender said: “The ITBP team told us on Tuesday night that they had a height of 14,500 feet, where they would camp and do the rest of the climb on Wednesday.
They have a GPS (Global Positioning System), Ration , and a doctor.
“Officials said on Tuesday that the expedition of Cancel To Pin Via via Khamengar Valley began on September 15 with 18 members, including six mountain climbers from West Bengal and support staff 12.
