Mangaluru: Former Union Minister and Rajya Saba Members, Oscar Fernandes continued to be in the ICU, but his health condition increased on the third day on Thursday, according to the source of Congress.
He was critically injured after falling an accident in his apartment in Palavinangady, while doing his routine training on Monday.
KPCC President DK Shivakumar, former Minister of Siddaramaiiah, KPCC President Saleem Ahmed and opposition leader in the legislative council S R Patil visited the leader of the Veteran Congress at the hospital on Thursday.
Shivakumar told reporters, after visiting Fernandes and his relatives, Fernandes’s health condition was better.
“His health is not as bad as described in the media.
Family members and doctors are sure.
He is fine and we are sure that he will do a full recovery.
They (doctors) take opinions and will decide on the next treatment phase.
There is a worries because he is in the ICU And it doesn’t have body movements in the last two days.
Let’s all pray for the initial recovery, “said the KPCC President.
For queries about whether Fernandes will shift elsewhere for treatment, said Shivakumar, Mangaluru Hospital is the best in this country.
“I have spoken with Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi yesterday and they also spoke to Fernandes family members.
I have also sent reports and they (Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi) to get an update in his health condition,” he said.
Meanwhile, KPCC has canceled a meeting of party leaders from Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada who will be chaired by Secretary AICC Randeep Singh Surjewala, scheduled for Friday.
“We have postponed meetings after the health of our leader.
We will reschedule the same only after Fernandes recovered,” he added.
