Bathinda: Stubble Burning Case solves all records in the ongoing rice harvest season when Punjab reported 5,327 incidents in a day on Friday, taking a count to 28,792.
Punjab has detected 3,032 cases in Diwali.
It was the third time that more than 3,000 straw combustion events were recorded in a day, with the previous November 2 at 3,001.
Against 5,327 cases recorded on November 5 this year, 6,668 cases were recorded today in 2019 and 5,036 in 2020.
Regarding 28,792 cases of combustion in a sustainable year, 38,053 cases have been recorded until November 5, 2019 and 49,122 cases in 2020.
All 23 districts in the state have recorded such cases, with Pathankot have only three lowest numbers and the highest Tarn Taran at 2,817.
Ferozepur was the second in 2,329, the next patiala at 1,671, Sangrur at 1,661 and Ludhiana at 1.607.
Overall, 12 districts have recorded more than 1,000 events.
Together with pollution distributed by firecrackers at night Diwali, the quality of the surrounding air deteriorated in the state and was recorded as poor with more than 200 AQI in most places in early Friday morning.
Burning Stainble was recorded in Punjab until November 30, although cases began to recede after November 20.
Going at the beginning of harvesting this year due to heavy rains, combustion of residues is expected to continue until the end of the ongoing month.
