Guwahati: From the help of the cyclone of Amphan Harrowing to help the authorities to wear a plan to minimize erosion through the technology on the largest Riverine Island in Asia in Assam above, IIT Guwahati Drone start-up will fly high in North North Guwahati on Wednesday.
Drones developed by IIT Guwahati start-up, Drone Tech Lab, will perform a drone show at the R-Day event in Kamrup, the first of its kind in the Northeast, the Institute said in a statement on Tuesday.
Drones develop in the lab have succeeded in providing solutions in several domains – disaster management, agriculture, surveys and mapping.
It has been at the forefront, technology and creative, in promoting disaster management caused by Typhoon Amphan by offering drone technology to help frontline workers.
Over the years, this drone has been prominent because it plays an important role in handling some of the main challenges in East India.
Majuli, which has a coverage of the surface area of 880 km in the early 20th century has been reduced to 553 km until now due to sustainable erosion by the aggressive Brahmaputra River.
For the Tech Lab drone, out is an opportunity to develop a solution to monitor and analyze erosion rate so that it can plan a sustainable solution to control it.
The R-Day event will help publish this technology for the sake of mass.
“Since the inauguration of the drone center in IIT Guwahati, there are several projects where drones have been sought for faster data collection, whether such land surveys, river mapping, agriculture or health care and disaster management,” Sitharam said.
