MOHALI: A part of a teachers’ union demanding regularisation of occupations allegedly swallowed a hazardous material in a suicide attempt in a gherao of the Punjab School Education Board construction in Sector 62 here on Wednesday.
Rajvir Kaur in Abohar was accepted into a hospital.
She had been discharged after therapy.
She explained she’d finish her life because Punjab government wasn’t listening to their needs.
Countless teachers, largely from primary schools, had obstructed the entrance and exit areas of the construction, forcing education department and board workers to leave their automobiles to the assumptions and also scale the walls to return to their own homes.
A few of the instructors — Satinder Kang, Kulvinder Nardu, Samarjit Mansa, Kulbir Fazilka and Beant Singh Patiala — increased beneath the office construction with bottles of gas in their palms and threatened to put themselves on fire when nobody by the education ministry arrived to get a conversation together.
Temporary Teachers’ Union leaders Jhujar Singh Sangrur and Ranjit Singh Bhattiwal stated chief minister Amarinder Singh prior to the elections 2016 had come for their own protest website and promised once his administration comes into power, he’d regularise the help of teachers.
He stated,”Over four decades have passed the state government hasn’t lived up to its guarantee.
Therefore, we’ve opted to hold large protest until any individual from authorities comes and gives us confidence.
In addition, we need our wages be raised to Rs 40,000.”
