SVC Questions 15 Candidates in the APDCL Recruitment Exam Fraud

Guwahati: Cell Special Activities of Companies (SVC) on Monday questioned 15 candidates, which have emerged in the Recruitment Exam of the Company Assam Power Distribution Limited (APDCL) in 2019, in connection with the alleged fraud in the recruitment process.
SVC SP Rosie Kalita said, “We have published a call for 124 candidates, which are allegedly involved in fraud.
We have begun to interrogate around 10 to 15 of them every day and have initiated an investigation today.” On September 30, Kalita had questioned a professor , Dilip Borah, and Gahati University Registrar Hemanta Nath in connection with this case.
The SVC team also interrogated APDCL official Daisim Hazarika and Sanjay Bhowmik.
“Investigation is ongoing.
We will make arrests if we find adequate evidence of those we are interrogated,” Kalita added.
So far, 11 people, including Prime accused Mohammed or Rahman, has been arrested in connection with this case.
Rahman is the Head of the APDCL General Manager.
Everything is in terms of justice.
Kalita said many APDCL officials were under the scanner.
Scam which was allegedly related to the recruitment exam held on February 17 and April 28, 2019 for office-cum-field assistant positions, Sahayak and light vehicle driver.
A racket was allegedly involved in demanding bribes from Rs 2 Lakh to RS 3 Lakh from the candidate to clear the written examination.
