BENGALURU: South Western Railway has declared an effort to encroach its own land, supposedly with backing out of the BBMP, has been recently foiled.
SWR on Wednesday slammed BBMP to the hierarchical structure of a street in railroad land nearby Belandur Road railroad station.
In a report, SWR said that a 300-metre-long street of 7metre breadth had been under construction in railroad land which was used by men and women for commuting by Panathur Main street to Panathur Dinne near Belandur Road channel of Bengaluru City-Salem railroad section.
“This region has many flats and fresh habitations have come up to cater to neighboring IT technician parks.
Lately, a BBMP contractor placed a street immediately without the consent of railways and tried to encroach railroad property,” stated a media release.
During a recent routine review, railroad staff detected this and educated RPF on June 15.
“Enforcement staff shielded the property from unauthorized building of street by erecting obstruction of older railroad sleepers across the street and border columns to demarcate from permanent encroachment”, said, On Wednesday, Bengaluru Central MP PC Mohan ran an inspection meeting with officials of railroad and BBMP together with nearby residents.
“BBMP advised that it’s in process of getting private property and partial work was done, equilibrium work anticipated to finish six months.
Throughout the assembly for the advantage of the public, both parties agreed to keep the status quo and BBMP consented not to do additional work on railroad land.
Railways also consented to process orders of BBMP for temporary usage of street by local people until land acquisition performed in six weeks”, the release provides.
