Aizawl: Border tensions increased in Dholy along Jalan Raya Aizawl-Silchar because of the death of a murder accused of a central Aizawl prison on Wednesday resulted in the stones thrown into trucks registered in Mizoram on Thursday, police said.
A senior police said that even though the Meitei community in the city of Dholy District Cachar did not block the road, the tension wins in the area.

The police report said that the defendant was thoroughly interrogated by the Sairang police when he allegedly admitted that he had hacked the deceased using machetes in their vehicle near the Buichali Bridge when the victim had insulted him in a drunk condition and was rejected to pay money for his food.

The report said Nripen died of hanging himself in his cell.
