Chandigarh: On Thursday, during the covid vaccination review, it was found that the second dose of Vaccination Covid had matured at 75,526 cases in Chandigarh.
In 75,416 cases, the first dose of the covishield vaccine was given more than 16 weeks ago but the second dose was still delayed.
In 110 cases where Covaxin was given more than six weeks ago, the second dose was waiting.
“Given that the festival season is underway and there are more possibilities for the spread of viruses, we must vaccinate before being positively.
However, it must be ensured that the same dose of the same vaccine was taken according to the first dose,” said UT Health Secretary Yashpal Garg.
Especially, the covishield vaccine is being given in Chandigarh but in some cases, private hospitals have provided several covaxin doses too.
The Ministry of Health has contacted this supporting receiver on the registered cellphone number and the drive has been made to manage the second dose in all cases that have matured.
“The UT government has enough vaccines and there is no waiting time to get vaccination both for the first dose or for the second dose,” Garg said.
He added, “People who have got the first dose of Chandigarh and then go somewhere else maybe get the second dose from anywhere in India and may not delay further for them to return to Chandigarh.”
