Bengaluru: In the midst of a strong buzz about the expansion of the Union cabinet on Wednesday, the political circle in Karnataka expects induction of one or two BJP parliamentarians from the country in PM Modi.
Among the names that conducted a round was anecal narayanaswamy (from Chitradurga), Ramesh C Jigajinagi (Vijayapura), Bhagawant Khuba (Bidar) and Shivakumar Udasi (Haveri).
While Khuba and Udasi are included in the community of Lingayat, Narayanaswamy and Jigajinagi comes from the scheduled caste circles.
Party sources say Narayanaswamy and Jigajinagi both call Delhi on Tuesday and maybe get a green signal.
While Narayanaswamy is the first MP, Jigajinagi is MP six times and has been serving previously a minister in the Modi Cabinet.
Narayanaswamy, who has reached Delhi, said he had not received any information, but was ready to take responsibility, the party delegated him.
The Union Cabinet consists of 52 ministers and expected PM Modi might add 20.
A senior BJP official said the party was interested in triggering a member of the Dalit Parliament from the State, maintaining the assembly selection of 2023 in mind.
“Because both of them are included in the left sect among SCS that have emerged as a new sound bank for the Safron Party in Karnataka, both of them have a better chance than others,” he said.
Karnataka has two ministers in the Union Cabinet – DV Sadandada Gowda and Pralhad Joshi.
Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman is also MP Rajya Sabha from Karnataka.
The late Suresh Angadi, MP four terms, have served as MOS for the train for about 16 months.
His wife, Mangala Angadi, was elected MP Besagavi after his death because Covid in September last year.
The part of the party believes a linglayat will be included in the United cabinet to replace Angadi, which changes the spotlight on the MP three times UDAS and MP Khuba for the first time.
The Lingayat community is a large bank of the Safron Party in the state.
There was also talk about Dalit candidates who were being installed, with consideration of polls in mind.
The source said the opportunity for MP Kalaburagi Umesh Jadhav appeared as a black horse could not be ruled out.
He defeated the official Congress and former party leader at Lok Sabha Malikarjuna M Kharge in the last poll.
