Guwahati: The Assam government on Thursday canceled the proposed Special Council exam which was proposed for students who were dissatisfied with the evaluation formula presented by two high-powered committees for the X and XII class council exams.
Special examination is proposed especially for students who aspire to appear in the recruitment exam under the state government where substantial weight comes from class X and XII performance.
According to the previous government view, the true services of students cannot be assessed without written checks.
However, the idea was opposed loudly by various student organizations, including all Assam Students (Aasu).

He, however, added that during the recruitment of the teacher’s eligibility test (TET) – Teacher-translition in schools or faculty members at a higher educational institution, where substantial weight comes from the council exam, the government can carry out future balancing tests.
Sarma held a meeting with AASU representatives, all Bodo Student Unions (ABSU) and Asom Jatyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) to discuss alternative evaluation methods required by the cancellation of the HSLC and HS exams for 2021 because of Covid- 19 Pandemics.

“After detailed discussions, consensus was reached about alternative evaluation methods,” said Government Liberation.
Furthermore, he added that the certificate and marker sheet provided under the evaluation formula will apply in the application of higher education and work.
However, the meeting also decided that the equivalent test or equalize could be held for teacher recruitment in schools and colleges, if deemed necessary.
This will apply to all students from the Secondary Education Council, Assam (SEMA), Assam’s secondary education council (ahsec) and the education council and other education councils.
In addition, it is also decided that there will be no ranking system rankings in the HSLC and HS exams under the new formula and only the differences and stars will be given.
Sarma is also directed at holding a class IX examination under Seba starting now.
The exam that will be carried out by the District Education Council will have a similar question paper for all district schools.
