Guwahati: The amendment bill for the modification of the four-month-old cattle preservation law, the other to form a recruitment commission for posting II and IV, and others to change the police law along with several other bills will be submitted by the government.
During the five-day winter session Assam Legislative Assembly from Monday.
Bisangary Assembly speaker Daimary told the media, “We have received proposals for 15 bills from the government and receive 13 of them so far.
There are also additional demands and surgery.” The government will bring some amendments in the livestock conservation law, which includes a person to enable livestock transport from one district to another except in the districts along the international border, which is prohibited under the laws near the house in August.
Eight Assam Districts shared international boundaries – four with Bangladesh and the rest with Bhutan.
Minister of Himanta’s minister could Sarma said, “With the amendment, the government will now have additional rights to seize vehicles carrying livestock illegally.” The cabinet has agreed to this amendment bill on Friday.
The opposition leader of Debrabrata Saikia from Congress said by trying to change the law of livestock preservation that had not even been implemented, the government’s casual approach was in the future.
“When the livestock preservation bill was submitted at home in August, we have shown that the proposal is impractical.
Now it seems the government, who wants to change the law, does not really examine the cracks,” said Saikia.
