“Since 2005, the JE vaccine made in China has been used in India and its efficacy and the acceptance is undeniable.
It is difficult to say why the government does not trust China for the Covid vaccine,” said a source at the Ministry of Health.
Last year, the Government Assam has bought Je Vaccine Jenvac from Bharat Biotech, made in India.
However, this year, the state must depend on the central supply which is made by China.

The wild pigs and birds are Jevirus’s main carrier especially during the rainy season, when stagnant water creates a conducive atmosphere to breed culex mosquitoes, the main vector for JE.
To eradicate JE, vaccination is the only way to destroy mosquito breeding soils has become an impractical solution in the Rural District Assam.
