Chandigarh: booking former Minister of Bikram Singh Majithia took a count of criminal cases against sitting or former member of Parliament Punjab and MLAS to 30.
The state government of the state handed over this on Wednesday in the Punjab High Court and Haryana during the hearing of public interest petitions related to cases this high profile.
In the previous trial, the government had claimed that number 29.
In a new report, Inspector General Police Investigation Bureau (BoI) Gursharan Singh Sandhu proposed that in 29 cases waiting until November 11, the final investigation report was submitted at 23.
He handed over that: “The bureau was satisfied with the investigation of all these cases, which was subject to further supervision by the court of trial.
Going with a new report from the field unit, only seven cases remained delayed against MPE members or MLA in Punjab, with the inclusion of one FIR (First Information Report) Since the last hearing.
“The Haryana Government handed over in the High Court that the state had 13 cases delayed to sit or former parliamentarians and MLA.
During the last trial in November, the state has claimed this number 17.
After seeing reports from the two countries, the High Court directed their government to accelerate the investigation.
The next hearing is on March 28.
Looking into this petition, the High Court has been seeking details of Punjab, Haryana, and the UT Chandigarh government about cases delayed by politicians.
It has recognized these things after the guidance of the Supreme Court and appointed senior advocate of Khosla Rupinder as Amicus Curiae to help court about this problem.
