Bengaluru: The lightweight earthquake from the intensity of 3.6 on the Richter scale rocked the parts of North Carnataka, this time in the Vijayapura district on Wednesday morning, an official said.
According to the monitoring center of the Karnataka state natural disaster, the vibration was felt in Dhanaragi in Vijayapura at 10:29 a.m.
“The earthquake was epicentred at 2.9 km north of West Dhanargi in Vijayapura,” KSNDMC said in a statement.
Also say that low-observable intensity and vibration may be felt up to a maximum radial distance of 12 to 15 km.
“This type of earthquake does not endanger the local community, although there may be a little shock that is observed locally,” read the statement.
This is the seventh tremor in October.
Until now, the tremor was felt in Bidar and Kalaburagi and now it has been felt in Vijayapura according to KSNDMC officials, the geologist team has been sent to study the phenomenon.
