Chandigarh / Amritsar: Punjab Lok Congress (PLC), led by former Chairman of the Captain Amarinder Singh, on Sunday announced the first list of 22 candidates for the February state assemblies.
Amarinder will contest from its own assembly constituency, Urban Patiala.
The PLC has also reduced two former leaders from the previous Amarinder Party Congress in the Majha region.
While the former Congress of MLA Harjinder Singh Thekar was revealed from South Amritsar, the Gurdaspur District Congress Committee former Head of Teeninder Singh Randhawa would conduct a contest from Fatehgarh Churian.
Of the 117 assembly seats in Punjab, PLC will compete from 37 seats as part of the Alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt).
Amarinder said that the discussion still took place on the possibility of five assembly constituencies for PLC.
Of the 37 seats in Kitty PLC, 26 are in the Malwa region, seven in Majha and four in Doaba.
The first list of PLC has nine JAT Sikhs, four of the scheduled caste communities (SC), three of the other back classes (OBC), three Hindu brahmanions, two from the Aggarwal Hindu community, and a woman from the Muslim community.
Amarinder has lowered the former Indian Hockey team captain Ajitpal Singh from Nakodar.
Bikramjit Minder Singh Chahal, son of Associate and advisor near Amarinder Bharat Inder Singh Chahal, will contest from the concern assembly constituency.

Mukhtiar Singh, a retired PPS Officer, will contest from the seat Nihal Singh Wala.
The Dharamkot chair ticket has gone to advocate for Ravinder Singh Garewal, while Dr.
Amarjeet Sharma has been derived from Rampura Phul.
