Pathankot: Search operations to track lost military helicopter pilots that hit the reservoir dam Sagar Ranjit (RSDR) in Jammu and Kathua Kashmir back on Wednesday, officials said.
However, divers cannot find a pilot mission on the second day of search operations.
Senior Police Supervisor (SSP) RC Kotwal said: “Until now, divers have not found a trace of the lost pilot and they have requested special equipment for water search operations in”.
In particular, Rudra, an armed version of the original advanced light helicopter of 254 Aviation Army squadron has taken off from Mamun Cantonment in Pathankot around 10:40 a.m.
on Tuesday for routine sortie.
After 10 minutes of flight time, the helicopter developed several obstacles, lost control and fell to the RSDR.
The source involved in the search and rescue mission was captured that the possibility was that the seat belt did not work after the accident and the two pilots could be trapped in a helicopter that could lie somewhere in the reservoir.
Kotwal confirmed that the diver could not find the helicopter’s main body and the search team had taken the helicopter plastic debris.
