Guwahati: Chairman of Cell Citizenship Minister, Assam, on Tuesday arrested six people, including three government officials, on charges of abuse of more than Rs 25 Lakh which was intended for road construction in the Mandia Development Block under BPETA Bawhbar Regency.
A total of RS 65 Lakh was released for road construction under 14 million MLA regional development schemes in 2017-18.

The three cm alert team arrested the defendant from Guwahati in Kamrup (Metro), Mangaldai in Darrang District and the Barpeta district on Tuesday.
Allegations have been identified as Yusufur Rahman (Deputy CEO, Zilla Parishad, Mangaldai), Jadav Choudhury (then blocks the development of officers, Mandia’s Development Block), Ainur Rahman (Junior Engineer, Mandia Development Block) and three members of the Mandia Construction Committee for Development Blok – Abdur Rezzak , Mujahidur Rahman and Sahjamal Ali.

The defendant had been ordered based on Section 406, 420, 409, 468 and 471 from the Indian Criminal Code (IPC) and Section 13 (2) Prevention of corruption (Amendment) Act 1988.
