NEW DELHI: Tamil Governor Nadu Banwarilal Purohit has been given additional allegations of Punjab and the Union Chandigarh region, according to a official statement released on Friday.
Previously, V P Singh Badnore was the Governor of Punjab and Administrator Chandigarh.
“The President of India is happy to appoint Purohit, Governor of Tamil Nadu, to release the function of the Governor of Punjab, besides his own duty from the date he assumes the charges of the Governor of Punjab’s office, until the regular settings are made,” said the statement.
The president has also appointed Purohit as Chandigarh administrator, in addition to his duties as Governor of Punjab, he added.
