BENGALURU: The Karnataka government may consider introducing more relaxations as all 30 districts have recorded the Covid test positivity rate (TPR) of less than 10% for the first time after the second wave hit the state in early April.
With this, most districts are expected to move to level 2 of unlocking soon.
Traders are urging the government to upgrade unlocking to the third level in rest of the state by extending operation of public transport and keeping hotels and restaurants open till 10pm, besides relaxing the weekend curfew.
“We may consider some more relaxations with the situation continuing to improve.
We will conduct a review meeting next week and the chief minister will take a decision,” said state health minister K Sudhakar.
The present unlock norms will be in force till July 5, and the government is likely to assess the situation on July 3.
