Guwahati: Two people, including an employee of the Assam Forest Department, was arrested for alleged their involvement in the smuggling of rhino horns, an official said on Thursday.
Officials of Division Wildlife Assam Timur added both on Wednesday, following the interrogation of a smuggler for a hunter and wildlife, who had been captured before.
The arrested duo has been identified as Abdul Ali and Bimala Saikia.
The latter is Kaziranga National Park employee, said Division Forest Officer Ramesh Kumar Gogoi.
Allegations that while Ali sold rhinoceros horns into hunters and captured smugglers, it was provided with him by Saiki.
Forest employees were arrested earlier in the same case and came out on guarantees, added Gogoi.
Two suspected branches were also arrested with Gading in the Beacan District along the Indian-Bhutan border on Wednesday.
