Bengaluru: Two Kerala-based men who lived in the city were arrested on Friday and 4kg worth of hash oil around Rs 2 Crore recovered from them.
The defendant was arrested by red hand while carrying oil in their backpack, said Police Suddaguntaya.
The defendant was Mohammed Irfan, 24, a resident of Hulimavu and from Kozhikode, and Thari Azeem Mohammed, 25, from Hulimavu and native Malappuram.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Srinath Mahadev Joshi said the duo arrived in the city and rented a room at Hulimavu.
“Irfan, who was accused of Prime before staying in Begur and worked with a different private company.
Then, he went to Kerala and returned to town with Azeem a few months ago.
They were arrested by red hand after drug vendors arrested previously gave instructions,” he said.
Peddler has revealed Irfan’s name and police tried to track it.
He has changed his cellphone number, but the police finally managed to track new.
According to Joshi, both of them bought oil from someone in Visakhapatnam.
“Pour it in plastic cover and put it in a backpack, they arrived here.
We asked them about their antecedents and would contact our Kerala colleagues to find out whether the defendant had a criminal record,” he said.
