Chandigarh: After a 20-year-old man from Italy who had landed in India on November 22 and came to visit his relatives at Chandigarh tested positive Omicron on December 11, two relatives had also been found positive for the variant.
Of the three cases, two have expired after they are quarantined and tested negatively RPCR by the UT health department.
The 20-year-old man is the first case of a variant in the city.

The genome sequencing report of the three remains is delayed but everything is tested negatively on RT PCR that retests on December 24 and runs out.
