Chandigarh: Abhinav and Asha come from Uttarakhand tied in a unique wedding on Friday.
They both have one kidney.
The bride has donated his organs to his brother, while the groom is a kidney recipient two years ago.
This is a rare event because most have obstacles about the normal life of the future and prefer healthy people to get married, according to the doctor.
“In 2013, my sister donated her kidney to me.
He has led a normal life since then,” Heera Daspa, bridal brother.
Initially, there was reluctance in the family.
The family approaches a transplant surgeon who has operated the groom and groom.
“I tried to get rid of their fear because there was no problem in raising my family after marriage.
They are sure and agree to tie the wedding knots,” said Dr.
Priyadarshi Ranjan, a kidney transplant surgeon at a private hospital in Mohali.
He said, “In 15 years of my career, I have not found such a partner who has agreed to get married.
Usually, because a lot of information is wrong, such patients don’t prefer to marry someone who has become a donor or recipient.” Good Abhinav and Asha Each is a recipient and kidney donor from the sisters and their brothers.
“When my sister underwent surgery, after 6 years, Abhinaav was advised to transplant kidneys.
He received our advice and went to the same doctor from where I finished the transplant,” heera said.
The marriage of the couple will be exemplary and help in removing myths on organ donations.
Dr.
Ranjan said, “The action will motivate other patients too.
When the couple will come to us, we will hold a reception party for them.
They have ignored myth and advanced to be an example.”
