BENGALURU: With gas price skyrocketing, costs of a couple veggies have become in town.
But, wholesale and sellers retailers say the increase could have been sharper or even to its lockdown.
Dealers anticipate a further increase in costs when unlocking starts and need for essential commodities gains.
An official in Hopcoms stated:”Whenever gas costs soar, the cost of vegetables also goes up.

K Lokesh, president of the Bangalore Onion and Potato Merchants Association, stated:”We used to have almost 250 truckloads of blossoms to the city daily prior to the lockdown, however, we finally get 120 just.
There’s surplus produce but without a need.
When there’s a requirement and the gas costs go up, then the increase in vegetable costs would be far greater.” Enormous occasions and parties such as parties, weddings and formal conventions aren’t happening which is just another reason behind the large dip in demand.
“The produce is still really high today for 2 reasons, it being the great rains and the next explanation is that a lot of folks who’ve abandoned the town have tried their hands at farming,” the officer out of Hopcoms said.
Lokesh pointed out that both dealers are made to adhere to just wholesale trade following the market was changed to Dasanapura.
