Bengaluru: Three Conmen who stole upscale cars after promising to help their owners find buyers allegedly misused the legislator Chamarajpet BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan, police said.
Central Crime Branch Official Arrested Naseeb, Mohammed Azam and Advanced Khan, all residents of Fraser Town, and recover 19 cars, including Toyota Fortuner, worth more than RS 3 Crore.
Pavan Kumar Ba, 31, from Banashankari filed a complaint against Naseeb and gang with police jnanabharati in 5.
July said when the IT company traced losses, he decided to sell the Toyota Fortuner and approach Naseeb.
Naseeb met Kumar in December 2020 and suggested that he not sell the vehicle because there was no request.
Instead, Naseeb offers Rs 13 lakh as a loan and demands that Kumar promised the car with him in return.
But he and his aides only transferred Rs 4.6 Lakh to Bank Kumar’s account and took his car, Kumar told the police.
“The gangs said they were close to Zameer Ahmed Khan’s service and threatened me if I told the police,” Alleged Kumar.
CCB officials found a gang member moving in a car carrying a sticker with Zameer’s photo and his appointment.
The gang used to approach the owner or car agent, who will sell their vehicles, claim to be a prospective buyer, and promise or sell cars later.
The CCB official said the gang sold a car to a local JD functionary in Davanagere, the other for advocates in Vemagal, Kolar, and also to prospective candidates Bengaluru.
They promised or sold cars in Chitradurga, Davanagere, Bhatkal, Mysuru and the surrounding area.
