Bengaluru: BBMP plans to apply rules that embed the responsibility to recover the path on the dug agency.
The Secretary of the Head and Administrator of the Additional BBMP Rakesh Singh, “Coordination between Civil Institutions is not good.
The road is being excluded by Bescom, BWSSB, KPTCL, and even the company ofC.
Therefore, we plan to implement the rules that any agent of affected roads will be Fully responsible for recovering it once the work ends.
The engineer at the environment will oversee things.
“At present, the agency asks BBMP permission to explore the road and must be deposit with the amount of restoration work.
Singh said today, many institutions tend to just say they have paid money.
“New rules will bring a lot of transparency into the system and also tend to end the blame game that leads to delaying road restoration,” he said.
Residents welcomed the initiative but wondered if BBMP had thought of things.
Srinivas Alavilli from Janaagraha said, on paper, it was clearly a good rule, did agents explore the way to have the competence to recover it? The BBMP also has to force a penalty to an agent who fails to restore the path in the given time frame.
The community group also believes the environmental committee must be informed about the paths that will be excavated and they must also be part of the restoration process, because those who will suffer if they are not done correctly.
Jagadeesh Reddy, a member of NGO Varthur Rising, said, “The concept that the responsibility of the road restoration lies in the agency that explores it is ideal.
But do other agents have the expertise to do this work as BBMP? A detailed study needs to be done in this matter.”
